From 1948, when he established his eponymous boutique on 57th Street, until his death in 1975, David Webb enraptured the ladies of New York’s Social Register with his stunning and endless variations on classic themes. Best known for his animal jewelry, Webb’s work was eccentric without every being outlandish, sophisticated but never boring. The inheritors of his tradition continue his work today.
